Committees

AsPS Standing and Ad Hoc Committees

  • Nominations Committee:  members are involved in the evaluation of nominees and running the annual election of AsPS officers.
  • Membership Committee:  members are involved member recruitment and sustainment efforts.
  • Awards Committee: members are involved in the evaluation and selection of nominees for the three achievement awards presented annually by the AsPS. For more about the individual awards, see the AsPS Awards & Recognition page.
  • Partnership In Education Committee:  members are involved in soliciting nominations and selection of the recipient for this annual award to a teacher in the host city for the AsMA Annual Scientific Meeting. Members visit the recipient’s classroom and the winner is an invited guest to the AsPS Annual Lecture and Business Luncheon Program.   • Training & Education Committee:  members are involved with planning and hosting of the AsPS sponsored panel of presenters during the AsMA Annual Scientific Meeting.
  • Business Luncheon Program / Smith Ames Memorial Lecture Committee:  members are involved with the many aspects of planning the annual luncheon event which is hosted as part of the Annual Scientific Meeting of the AsMA.   • AsPS Table:  all active AsPS members are encouraged to volunteer to ‘man’ the AsPS table at the registration area during the AsMA Annual Scientific Meeting. This also serves as one of the venues for dues collections and is the only venue for purchase of the AsPS social tickets, AsPS pins and to pick up your membership ribbon.
  • Social Committee:  members are involved in the planning of the annual AsPS social event held during the week of the AsMA Annual Scientific Meeting.
