Career Advice
Your AsPS peers can provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership for those interested in professional careers in aerospace physiology.  A formal mentoring program is supported by the parent organization, the Aerospace Medical Association, the foremost organization of aerospace medicine.

Professional Development
As an Aerospace Physiology Society member, valuable professional development is derived from not only attending, but participation in planning for the AsMA’s annual international meeting.  The Association attracts many of the world’s leading experts in the fields of aerospace physiology from various backgrounds to include military, industry, government and academia.  The AsMA and the AsPS endeavor to provide a challenging forum for ideas, research and thought-provoking discussion for a wide range of human performance, safety, human factors, system integration, education, research and training topics.  The AsPS hosts a Training & Education program of scientific presentations and discussions during the annual AsMA conference which has become one of the most well attended portions of the meeting.

Professional Network
Society membership provides numerous opportunities for networking and exchange of ideas with other aerospace physiology members as well as members from associated fields.  The AsPS organizational membership base is composed of aerospace and aviation physiology disciplines including human factors, safety, aviation medicine, human performance, education and training, research, flight equipment engineers and aerospace and operational physiologists, to name a few.  AsMA and AsPS members have access to a member database of worldwide experts.

You will get the most out of your membership if you are an active participant in both the Aerospace Medical Association and the Aerospace Physiology Society by attending events, participating in teleconferences, communicating on the AsPS Facebook community page, and mentoring junior members of the Society.

Professional Recognition
Being a member of the Aerospace Physiology Society gives you international professional recognition.  By achieving Society membership, your status is acknowledged throughout the entire Aerospace Medical Association community.  Membership is also a route to gaining experience towards eligibility for Board Certification in Aerospace Physiology (CAsP) as well as for earning the status of Fellow of the AsMA.

In addition, professional recognition and international acknowledgement of outstanding achievement is provided via the Society’s prestigious awards program.  These honors are presented annually to individuals who have made significant contributions to aerospace and operational physiology.

Influencing the Future of Aerospace Physiology
The Aerospace Physiology Society has evolved over the years as an international forum of experts in the field of aerospace physiology.  Knowledge and ideas are openly debated and discussed at the Association’s meetings, and reported in policy statements, The Aviation, Space and Environmental Medicine journal, and online news.  The AsMA also serves an important role for the general public by providing topical comment and raising awareness of the aerospace community.

As a prominent constituent organization of the AsMA, the Aerospace Physiology Society has significant influence on the issues confronting today’s aerospace community.  This includes participation in government and industry initiatives, as well as building strategic relationships with the world’s leading aerospace organizations, military services as well as academia.

The AsPS Website hosted by the AsMA enables members to keep up with the latest news and events within the society and parent organization.  Everything you need to know about the AsPS is available via the website, including membership, awards, career and professional development information as well as a link to our AsPS Facebook page for communication with our current members and with those interested in joining.
