Whether you are a mentor or mentee, there are three basic ways to participate in aerospace physiology mentorship.
I am an active member of AsMA and the AsP Society*
The first is via the Aerospace Medical Association’s online Mentorship Program. This is one of the unique benefits of being a member of AsMA. Moreover, this exclusive benefit is only for current AsMA members. So, in order to access AsMA’s Mentorship Program’s database, you will need to have an active registered account on AsMA’s website.
If you are a current AsMA member and would like to become a mentor or mentee through this method, then, please:
1.) Log in to your AsMA Account and scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Mentorship Program http://www.asma.org/members/mentor_program/index.php.
2.) Follow the links and directions for your desired role as a mentor or mentee.
After entering your information into the database, please note, that it is the responsibility of the mentee to make first contact with their prospective mentor.
I am NOT an active member of AsMA
The second way is reserved for non-AsMA members that are interested in participating in aerospace physiology mentorship. Simply email the AsP Society at our general email address aerophyzsociety@gmail.com and the Society’s leadership will contact you as soon as possible concerning your interests in aerospace physiology.
Finally, the third way is by simply discussing your interests with an AsP Society member that you may already know. Our members are located across the globe operating in civilian as well as military aviation settings. They will be more than happy to mentor you concerning a career in aerospace physiology, AsMA, and the AsP Society.
*Please note in order to be an active member within the Aerospace Physiology Society, you must also be an active member of the Aerospace Medical Association.
